'RHOBH' season 9: Denise Richard's debut marred by Lisa Rinna's 'toe licking' moment with Charlie Sheen

If Birkin bags could talk, they would have probably warned Denise Richards to brace herself for 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' season 9 premiere. Nothing could have prepared Denise for this kind of welcome and seems like she's on her own.

Denise made her series premiere this week in the highly successful and dramatic franchise and it started off with an unexpected confession. Lisa Rinna had to talk about the time Charlie Sheen licked her toes - let the girl breathe, Lisa R. We agree that these women don't waste time when it comes to getting down to business, which is, starting something or the other with each other, but this was Denise's debut - C'mon! 

Being the sweet and seasoned starlet that she is, she took it really well. She even laughed - awkwardly. The gang was meeting up at Lisa R's house for a cheese and crackers party. As they hang out and talked about the new Housewife, Erika points out that Lisa R had actually known Denise's ex, Charlie, from a movie they had done together. "You had done something with him," she tells Lisa and she replies, "We did this movie together called 'Good Advice' and I'm in the first scene with him and do you know he's licking my toes in that scene?" she asks half embarrassed, half amused. Denise, with a weirded out look on her face, says "No!". Erika, probably sensing the strangeness in the conversation, quickly changes the topic to the jalapeno-cucumber margaritas being too strong - good thinking, woman!

We did see a little bit of Denise's personality when she addressed 'The World Is Not Enough' controversy. She was cast as nuclear physicist Christmas Jones in 1999 Bond film and while she thought it was a pretty great and substantial role, not everyone thought so. Her credibility was questioned and the skimpy outfits throughout the film didn't help her case. When Erika points out that she loved her as Jones, she says, "I got really slammed in that movie cuz they didn't think I could be a-" "Nuclear scientist?" Erika cuts in and everyone laughs. Erika continues, "She was hot and pretty so everyone thought she couldn't possibly have a brain". Denise, talking over Erika says, "I was a Bond girl they didn't want me to have a lab coat and sh** on all the time." 

It's bad enough that the premiere became all about Lisa Vanderpump - her pooch problems with Dorit, her bubbling feud with longtime friend Kyle Richards and her personal struggles with the loss of her elder brother Mark. While her brother's passing and her emotional upheaval because of it was absolutely understandable and garnered our sympathy, the show should have given Denise a little space to just be, too. The drama at the end at the pool party was also pretty blah. Denise Richards, the woman who gave us 'Wild Things' deserves better! Hopefully, we'll see more in the next episode.
