Baldur's Gate 3 puts an emphasis on keeping players engaged in the exploration by rewarding them with new items for discovering hidden locations by looking under every rock pile they come across. The game isn't afraid to have players miss out on a lot of stuff if they're just blazing through the main quest without looking around.

10 Gloves Of Power

Best For: Paladin, Fighter, Rogue

gloves of power in bg3
  • Absolute's Bane: Melee attacks can induce a -1d4 penalty to the target's Attack Roll and Saving Throw. Sleight of Hand +1.
  • How To Obtain: Kill the goblins attacking the Druid Grove and loot the chief's body.

Successfully inflicting a -1d4 penalty to all attack rolls and saving throws can come in incredibly handy if you're facing off against bosses that won't go down in one hit. Just remember that the effect can only proc via a melee attack like a sword or a great axe.

The Sleight of Hand +1 is the most beneficial on characters who are going to be doing Sleight of Hand checks like lockpicking and pickpocketing, but having it on your frontliner doesn't hurt either.

9 The Sparkle Hands

Best For: Monk

the sparkle hands in bg3
  • Conductive Strikes: Successful unarmed attacks generate 2 Lightning Charges.
  • Effective Transmitter: If the wearer has Lightning Charges, they gain Advantage when attacking metal constructs or metal armor-wearing enemies. This effect is separate from the base Lightning damage generated from Lightning Charges.
  • How To Obtain: Inside a wooden chest near the Riverside Teahouse in the Sunlit Wetlands.

The only characters who can feasibly use these gloves are Monks. All subclasses of Monk deal massive unarmed damage, and if they come equipped with some Lightning gear, they do even more.

There are not many metal constructs in the game until you get to Act 3, but by then, you'll get better gloves for your characters. However, there are plenty of enemies wearing metal armor that trigger this gloves' special effect, making it extremely worth it to have on your unarmed attacker.

8 Abyss Beckoners

Best For: Druid, Ranger, Cleric, Wizard

abyss beckoners in bg3
  • Demonspirit Aura: Summoned creatures are resistant to everything except Psychic damage. At the start of every turn, while the effect is turned on, the creature succeeds in a WIS saving throw or goes mad (same as the Crown of Madness effect).
  • How To Obtain: Inside a chest in a locked room in the Zhentarim Hideout. Lockpick the door but avoid being seen to prevent combat.

Abyss Beckoners is a bit of a double-edged sword, and players need to be careful when using it. The effects only trigger if you have a summon on the field, so classes that get natural summons get the most benefit out of this, but it also affects units summoned by scrolls or via special means.

Clerics in Baldur's Gate 3 gain access to some incredibly powerful spells. Here is a list of the best ones to try out.

Note that the summons that go mad never attack the caster; they only attack anyone nearby who is not the caster. Try to position your summons so that they spawn inside a horde of enemies so that even if they do fail their saving throw, they still only attack enemies. Demonspirit Aura can also be toggled on and off so that you don't always have to worry about positioning if you don't want to.

7 Reason's Grasp

Best For: Barbarian

reason's grasp in bg3
  • Ever Vigilant: Ending Rage voluntarily gives back 15 HP.
  • How To Obtain: Save Rugan from the gnolls on the Risen Road, and you can loot Reason's Grasp in a chest inside the cave he is hiding in.

Barbarians are the only class that has access to Rage in BG3 and, therefore, the only ones that can benefit from wearing Reason's Grasp. Triggering the effect requires ending Rage by yourself and not because the duration ran out.

The synergy between how Barbarians want to fight and how these gloves function is apparent. Barbs want to jump into the middle of the fight at every turn and keep the focus on themselves, taking damage. With these gloves, that damage is mitigated to a large extent if you're smart about how you end your Rage.

6 Wondrous Gloves

Best For: Bard

wondrous gloves in bg3
  • Troubadour's Wonder: +1 AC, +1 Bardic Inspiration.
  • How To Obtain: Dropped by a mimic near the Harper stash in the Grymforge.

Wondrous Gloves give Bards a flat increase to Bardic Inspiration, allowing them to use it one extra time before every long rest when it naturally regenerates. Bardic Inspiration can turn the tides of a battle when used correctly.

The +1 to Armor Class is also a flat increase and doesn't have a caveat attached to it like the Bracers of Defence. If you have a Bard in your party, there is no reason to give them anything else until you're well into the mid-game.

5 Gloves Of Heroism

Best For: Paladin

gloves of heroism in bg3

Only Paladins get access to Channel Oath spells, so they're the only ones who can benefit from these gloves. In the early game, these gloves are incredible tools to allow your Paladin to survive on the front line without having to worry about healing themselves.

They can also be found fairly early on if you know where to look, allowing players to get more mileage out of them. A big benefit is that if your Paladin is getting Heroism from the gloves, they can use their concentration for something else, as casting Heroism by itself demands concentration.

4 Gloves Of Missile Snaring

Best For: Rogue, Ranger

gloves of missile snaring in bg3
  • Missile Snaring: Intercept missiles from ranged weapon attacks, reducing the damage dealt by 1d10 + your DEX modifier.
  • How To Obtain: Buy from Arron in the Druid Grove.

Unlike the Monk's Deflect Missiles, Missile Snaring only reduces the damage taken from ranged attacks. The damage reduction is still an incredibly useful utility to have, as it's a flat damage decrease across the board.

High dexterity classes like Rogue or Ranger will benefit the most from having these gloves on, but they can be used by anyone and will always have a positive impact on the outcome of any encounter.

3 Gloves Of Thievery

Best For: Rogue

gloves of thievery in bg3
  • Special Skill: Gain Advantage on all Sleight of Hand Checks.
  • How To Obtain: Buy from Brem in the Zhentarim Hideout after completing the 'Find the Missing Shipment' quest.

Players will often find themselves forced to use Inspiration to unlock chests when they run out of thieves' tools. A 12 roll can sometimes feel impossible if the game isn't cooperating with your intentions.

Having Gloves of Thievery neatly solves that problem by giving you two dice anytime you're trying to succeed in a Sleight of Hand roll. Put it on whichever character you have in your party responsible for getting through locks and pickpocketing valuables, and you'll have a much easier time doing it.

2 Bracers Of Defence

Best For: Barbarian, Monk, Wizard, Sorcerer

bracers of defence in bg3
  • Become the Bulwark: Gain a +2 bonus to AC as long as you are not wearing armor or holding a shield.
  • How To Obtain: Flip a hidden lever in the Apothecary basement room in the Blighted Village. Bracers of Defence are inside a gilded chest.

Barbarians and Monks have the class trait, Unarmored Defence, which makes it so that they get extra AC if they're not wearing armor or holding a shield. This trait is complemented perfectly by the Bracers of Defence because if you're playing one of these two classes unarmored, you will have already fulfilled the requirement for triggering the Bracer's special skill.

Spellcasters like Wizards and Sorcerers who don't have armor proficiencies will often qualify for wearing the bracers as they also fulfill the requirement. But, if you have to make a choice between a melee class and a ranged one, always choose the melee class, as they're always going to be taking more damage.

1 Gloves Of The Growling Underdog

Best For: Fighter, Paladin

gloves of the growling underdog in bg3
  • Underdog's Bravery: When surrounded by two or more enemy units in combat, the wearer gets Advantage on melee attack rolls. Strength Saving Throws +1.
  • How To Obtain: Unlock the locked metal door behind Dror Ragzlin's throne. The Gloves of the Growling Underdog are inside the treasure pile.

It's really easy to trigger Underdog's Bravery when you're playing a martial class that likes to go toe-to-toe with the enemies, as their natural positioning will force enemies to either focus on them by surrounding them or get hit by an attack of opportunity.

Fighters and Paladins are the best at this, but Melee Rangers, Druids, and even War Domain Clerics can be great options to give these gloves to. It's all about finding the correct positioning before committing to an attack.
