3 reasons women should dance more – Nigerian dancer, Kaffy reveals

Popular Nigerian dancer, choreographer, and dance instructor, Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau, known by her stage name, Kaffy, has given three reasons why women should dance more.

According to her, dancing would reduce stress, keep them fit, and make them more productive in their various walks of life.

The mother of two revealed this at the 2023 Lagos Women Dance, the fourth in its series, held on Saturday at the National Stadium in Lagos. It was hosted by Jela Projects Limited in conjunction with Seed Rehabilitation Foundation.

Kaffy said that the backbone of human living was continuous movement. She explained that the body, mind and soul benefit immensely from dancing.

“So, when I talk about being an advocate for dance, it is not only for entertainment but for human excellence; we need to move in order to live,“ she added.

The dancer also revealed that the organisers, Jela Projects Limited and Seed Rehabilitation Foundation, look to empower women for business, helping them with education and more.
