5 Movies With Creepier Marriages Than Gone Girl

Two thoughts I had immediately following the end of Gone Girl: 1. Nick and Amy's marriage is one effed-up relationship, and 2. Damn, is it over already? (An impressive feat for a two-hour-plus movie.) If you're like me and looking to fill the void until Gillian Flynn's next scarily amazing project hits theaters (Dark Places in 2015), here are five movies with marriage plots that will make you wish (or thankful) for a single status.
A Perfect Murder (1998)__
It's more like a perfect storm for marital hell: money troubles, infidelity, and a murder-for-hire plan gone very awry. The only good thing about this film are the acting performances from Gwyneth Paltrow and Michael Douglas; the rest is all pretty dark.
Double Jeopardy (1999)
If Double Jeopardy and Gone Girl teach us anything, it's this: Don't marry somebody named Nick. (Just kidding.) What's serious, though, is Ashley Judd's quest for revenge against her conniving, adulterous husband (played by Bruce Greenwood), who framed her for his "murder" and kidnapped their son. But before you start man-hating, there is one good guy in this film—Tommy Lee Jones.
What Lies Beneath (2000)
What's scarier than a cheating husband (Harrison Ford) who may or may not have killed his mistress? The ghost of said mistress inhabiting your wife (Michelle Pfeiffer's) body. Also, prepare to have leisurely, relaxing baths ruined for you forever.
Enough (2002)
