Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 is almost here and with it is set to be a total of 16 new villagers who have yet to appear in the game.
Eight of these villagers have appeared in previous Animal Crossing titles, while the other eight are brand new to the series.
Ahead of the update’s launch, we’ve taken a look at all the new characters and ranked them based on how good they’d be to have on our islands.
16. Ace
Birds are generally one of the worst types of villagers and jock is arguably the worst personality type. Combine them together and you get Ace.
While he’s hardly the worst villager in the game, when the standards are so high with the 16 new ones, he ranks in last place.
15. Frett
Now there’s nothing inherently wrong with Frett, he’s fine. He’s just not exciting.
A dog with a cranky personality and some big eyebrows. He’s fine and nothing more.
14. Zoe
Much like Frett, there’s nothing wrong with Zoe, she just seems a bit bland, especially considering she has the “Normal” personality type.
13. Faith
I imagine Faith will be a very popular villager, however, something’s just not quite right about her in the image.
Her red top is too close to the colour of her fur and it’s hard to tell if she’s wearing a weird orange onesie in the picture or if that’s genuinely the colour that she is.
12. Chabwick
Chabwick is another villager that will be exceptionally sought after, he’s a cute looking penguin with an ice lolly. I just can’t rank him any higher because of his stupid name.
11. Roswell
I’m generally a fan of alligator villagers, however, he looks like a marble cake and I’m just not really a fan of them…
10. Azalea
Now we make the top 10. Azalea isn’t particularly to my taste but the flower around her horn is sure to win her some admirers.
9. Quinn
Quinn is an eagle who looks like she may have a bit of an attitude but her “Big Sister” personality type would suggest otherwise.
I imagine her and Apollo would get on well!
8. Rio
While Quinn looks like she’d get on well with Apollo, Rio looks tailor-made to be friends with Pavé.
Bright colours, big starry cheeks and a peppy personality, plus the fact she’s named after Rio de Janeiro means she’s down to party.
7. Petri
If there’s one villager type I’m not a fan of, it’s mice. That being said, Petri’s unique styling means she ranks this high.
She’s a mouse scientist with giant specs and ears that look like old 3D glasses. I can dig it.
6. Cephalobot
I like robot characters like Ribbot and Sprocket. I like Octopus’ villagers. Cephalobot is a match made in heaven for me.
That being said, he isn’t going to be everybody’s cup of tea. Sixth is a worthy place for him.
5. Sasha
On looks alone, it’s clear Sasha is going to be incredibly popular. His sparkling eyes and bashful smile are a surefire winner.
Not necessarily for me, but I have to respect just how popular he’s set to be.
4. Ione
Like Sasha, Ione would be a little out of place on Woodsville but is sure to be popular. She has a little bit of the Marshal’s about her and that’s never a bad thing. Especially with that cosmic tail.
3. Marlo
Speaking of Marshal energy, Hamster Marlo looks certain to fit that bill.
He’s a sophisticated chap with small specs and a waistcoat. Will inevitably be a “dreamy”.
2. Tiansheng
Let’s start with the bad news, Tiansheng is a jock. That being said, he has such a unique look and styling based on the Monkey King that he deserves the second spot.
1. Shino
It’d be downright wrong to have anybody but Shino in the top spot for the Animal Crossing 2.0 villagers. Such a unique colouring and look means that she will undoubtedly be the most popular villager around the world.
