Microsoft is testing a brand-new Xbox home screen that will roll out to all Xbox consoles in 2023. The UI improvements include a new 'Jump back in' row and make it easier to access apps such as Settings and the Microsoft Store.

The new Xbox Home UI is part of a "multi-month series of experiments" Microsoft is running so it can "learn how to create a more personalized home screen experience and address some of the top trends and fan requests." These new changes are currently rolling out to a random subset of Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead Ring, with the idea that they'll be made available to all users in 2023 when Microsoft launches the new Home experience in full.

The first new changes that Alpha Skip-Ahead Insiders will see are a new 'Jump back in' row that displays your recently played games, though this is kind of similar to what's already in place, and new tiles for system apps such as the Microsoft Store directly underneath that top row. Microsoft also says that you'll see "curated categories and recommendations tailored to your gaming preferences" when you scroll down the page.

"We want to ensure this experience is the best it can be, and we know getting it right will take some time which is why we will be rolling it out slowly and iterating throughout the process," says Ivy Krislov, senior product manager lead of Xbox experiences.
