Following a delay earlier this year due to complications with Xbox Series S consoles running Baldur's Gate 3's split-screen co-op, Larian delayed the Xbox version of the game altogether. However, after speaking with Xbox boss Phil Spencer in August, Larian CEO Swen Vincke announced that the game will launch on Xbox this year as intended, but players on Xbox Series S won't have split-screen co-op, while players on Xbox Series X will get the full experience.
In the months after the announcement, Larian has continued to optimize Baldur's Gate 3 for Xbox Series S, and although the console seemed to be a bit of an albatross for Larian, the optimizations have improved the game's performance on all platforms. If you're looking to mark the game's exciting arrival on Xbox, Larian has stunning physical Deluxe Editions available on its website, which won't go out of stock, so stay away from scalpers.
