The Litwick evolution line, that includes both Lampent and Chandelure, has become one of the most popular in the Pokemon franchise.

The trio of Ghost/Fire-type Pokemon are relatively simple in concept, they’re just sources of light, but solid stats and great design execution has propelled them into the upper tiers of popularity.

Now, as part of Pokemon GO’s yearly Halloween spectacular, the trio are thrust back into the limelight with Litwick appearing in the wild and Lampent in raids.

But can either Litwick or Lampent be found in their shiny forms yet in Pokemon GO? Let’s take a look.

What Do Shiny Litwick and Lampent Look Like?

Another reason Litwick, Lampent and Chandelure are so popular is because they have pretty cool shiny forms.

Litwick’s flame changes from a purple colour to a light blue colour, making it subtly cooler. You can see it in the image below, alongside a shiny Chandelure, which now has bright orange flames.

Like both Litwick and Chandelure, Lampent’s flame changes colour too. This time, going the opposite direction to Litwick, changing to a purple colour.

You can see it in the image below.

Can Litwick or Lampent Be Shiny in Pokemon GO’s Halloween Event?

The short answer is a rather surprising no.

Many Pokemon GO fans were hoping that this Halloween was the year that the shiny Litwick line was introduced, however, unfortunately it was not.

Instead, what we got was a shiny Spinarak, which while still cool, isn’t a shiny Litwick!

It remains to be seen whether Niantic is planning to hold it back until next Halloween or if it will drop it at some point between then.

Whatever the answer, the sooner the better if you ask me.
