Can Zarude Be Shiny in Pokemon GO Secrets of the Jungle Event?

The Pokemon GO x Pokemon The Movie: Secrets of the Jungle event is here, bringing with it a multitude of exciting activities to get involved in.

There are plenty of new spawns, all of which featured prominently in the movie, new Raid Bosses, Research Tasks and most excitingly, a new time-limited Special Research Story.

This research will offer players the first opportunity to encounter and capture Secrets of the Jungle’s featured Mythical Pokemon, Zarude.

As they always do, players are wondering if Zarude can be Shiny in Pokemon GO as part of this brand new event. Let’s take a look.

What Does Its Shiny Form Look Like?

As with a large percentage of Legendary and Mythical Pokemon, Zarude’s Shiny form isn’t a particularly exciting one.

It retains the bulk of existing black and green colours, however, its dark grey stomach is replaced by a slightly more golden one. Other than that, there are no other changes.

Can Zarude Be Shiny in The Pokemon GO Secrets of the Jungle Event?

So far, only a small handful of Mythical Pokemon have had their Shiny Forms released in Pokemon GO. They are as follows:

• Mew
• Celebi
• Deoxys
• Darkrai
• Genesect
• Meltan

Unfortunately for Shiny hunters, that list isn’t getting any bigger with the addition of Zarude to the game as part of the Secrets of the Jungle event.

It’s highly likely that Niantic is holding its Shiny Form back for another event further down the line to drive player engagement.
