A Nigerian TikTok user, @theabisolaolowe, said that in Nigeria, claiming to be a witch can lead to a two-year prison sentence.

According to her, many people are unaware of this law and often engage in activities without considering the potential consequences. She specifically referred to the viral ‘witch’ trend on TikTok, where individuals dress up in scary costumes, and set up dark rooms with candles.
