"What was challenging about dressing Mark as Mario and his extra dancer as Luigi was the many factors that had to be thought out: It had to represent the video game while staying true to DWTS and also have a slight fashion edge to it. I found Topman white-and-black houndstooth pattern dress shirts that reminded me of the pixels from the video game. I dyed one red for Mario and a green one for Luigi. Next, I bought blue overalls and added matching Converse hightop sneakers. I found the perfect caps from Goorin and covered them in the dyed shirt fabrics, and, of course, to give it the DWTS twist, I added rhinestones!" —Steven
"The princess costume was fun to interpret because we wanted to make a younger and funkier version of the costume in the game. Secret: We had to make the crown out of fabric because a real one was too heavy for dancing." —Daniela
