Darwin Nunez taunted the Arsenal fans after equalising for Liverpool in an enthralling clash at the Emirates Stadium.

The Uruguayan forward got on the end of Luis Diaz's low cross from the right on 34 minutes. This was Nunez's first goal for his club since August 6.

He certainly enjoyed the goal as well and was in the mood to wind up the Gunners faithful as he did a jokey crying celebration right in front of them.

Nunez may have taken inspiration from Neal Maupay, who became known for doing the celebration in his days at Brighton.

It was a hugely entertaining encounter with Mikel Arteta's men taking the lead inside the first minute as Gabriel Martinelli fired past Alisson.

And Arsenal restored their lead seconds before the half-time whistle as Bukayo Saka scored on the stretch when he latched onto Martinelli's ball across goal.

Liverpool looked lively going forward, with Roberto Firmino equalising early in the second half but it's the same old problems in defence that were their undoing, with Saka netting the winner with a penalty.

After Martinelli's opener, former Arsenal man Perry Groves told talkSPORT: “Liverpool don’t concede their goal when they are at their pomp. There’s no closing down.

“Virgil van Dijk is the one playing Martinelli onside, Liverpool’s defence was all over the place.”

And then after Saka's goal, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher tweeted: "Shocking that, 1 minute to go until half time. Another defensive shambles."
