Riot Games released VALORANT patch 4.03 earlier this week, and it has now been revealed that the update has harmed the game’s deathmatch mode. To address these unforeseen developments, the developers announced today that the number of people in each lobby will be reduced.
Deathmatch modifications in Patch 4.03 included deleting and modifying “hazardous” spawn spots, “enhancing spawn logic” to spawn players further away from their death site, and halving spawn times.

Issues in Valorant Deathmatch
We heard you on the rough Deathmatch experience post-Patch 4.03 (like spawning in direct line of sight).
So we're reducing the number of players in Deathmatch from 14 to 12, immediately. This should mitigate these issues—and we'll keep an eye on the situation.

Players had numerous issues as a result of these adjustments, including spawning immediately in front of other players. In order to address these concerns, Riot will lower the number of participants in Deathmatch from 14 to 12.
This adjustment is only expected to be temporary, and it should only be in effect while the issues are being studied further. A remedy will most likely be rolled out in a future update to make things run more smoothly for gamers, but there is no timetable for when that will happen.
For the time being, gamers can continue to play VALORANT deathmatches as usual, albeit with a few less people per match–and, presumably, fewer harsh spawns.
