Based on Netflix’s official logline, we still don’t know much about the new season, but given that fan favorite Lucien Laviscount (Alfie) is now a series regular (he was previously listed as a guest star), it seems Emily might try to make things work with the charming Brit. (Of course, as far as we know, he has no idea that she went to Gabriel’s apartment hoping to start something back up with the Frenchman.)
As creator Darren Star told Glamour last year, “What’s happened with Emily does not mean the end of Alfie. Sometimes you look at a relationship that you think is the One, and you realize that the One might be someone else. So I don’t believe that…. Certainly, for me, the door is open for Emily and Alfie.”
There’s lots to look forward to in the new season—aside from incredible costumes, stunning locales, and hot men: mainly Emily’s decision about her future. “The thing about this decision is there’s no right decision here,” Star told us. “There’s no one decision that’s going to make everybody happy or that’s even going to make Emily happy. She has some tough choices, and she’s put in the middle of a lot of sticky situations at the end of the season.”
Will we meet Sylvie’s family?
“Absolutely,” Star tells Glamour about meeting more of Sylvie’s loved ones. “It’s something we might hear more about in future seasons. We don’t find out everything about Sylvie all at once. She’s like an onion or an artichoke. There’s a lot of layers to peel.”
What about a Kim Cattrall appearance?
Fans have been calling for Cattrall to make an appearance on the show ever since it was revealed that her Sex and the City character, Samantha Jones, had relocated to London. We know that Darren Star and former SATC costume designer Patricia Field (and current Emily in Paris co-costume designer) are close to Cattrall, so let’s just say it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
