LEGO Fortnite is the latest expansion mode that Epic Games is offering its player base, ensuring that there is always new and fresh content for the community to have fun with. One may or may not be a fan of the extremely popular battle royale video game, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to not recognize the massive pop cultural impact that it has had all across the globe.

With each mode or variation, Fortnite somehow becomes even more relevant than before, and with the newest collaboration with The LEGO Group, Epic seems to be building on its unmatched significance and legacy brick by brick.

The Fortnite Team at Epic Games announced the arrival of the game in a post titled “Welcome to LEGO Fortnite!” on its official website, welcoming the community to yet another expansion in the universe of the expansive battle royale title.

The adventure is building!

For those unaware of the latest collaboration between Epic Games and The LEGO Group, LEGO Fortnite seems to combine the best aspects of both iconic franchises. Fortnite is no stranger to collaborating with various brands to assert its strong dominance in the video game industry, and LEGO has been linking up with other forms of media like movies and games for years, so calling this partnership inevitable would not be an understatement.

It is “a brand new survival crafting adventure” mode in the base game, with the cherry on top being that it is initially free to play starting today, at least without all the microtransactions and in-game purchases.

Everything You Need to Know About Fortnite Chapter 5 From LEGO to Rocket Racing

The announcement comes just one day after the official cinematic trailer for LEGO Fortnite was released yesterday, which showcased a signature Fortnite character running from enemies before running into a portal that transports her to the LEGO universe, turning her into an appropriate persona as well.

The green landscape created by Epic Games looks stunning until it starts to rain, forcing the character to run towards some shade, where she unexpectedly finds a crafting bench, something that will play a major role in the new Fortnite mode. According to the footage, players will seemingly be able to craft weapons, such as an axe, to cut down trees and use their imagination to create buildings and other items.

The LEGO Fortnite cinematic trailer also suggests that other weapons, such as swords and crossbows, will also be available in the latest mode by Epic Games, as they can be used to survive against beasts made of LEGO blocks.

The world looks massive and gorgeous, complete with cities and communities, as well as a horror-esque twist as the characters end up inside a mine, where terrifying LEGO skeletons are working. There is also a tease at the very end, showcasing a huge monster that players will have to work together to defeat.

The official LEGO YouTube channel also took part in the announcement in its own way, sharing a brand new gameplay trailer for LEGO Fortnite a few hours ago to show what fans should expect from the fresh mode by Epic. Players can link up their Epic and LEGO accounts with each other to unlock “a special LEGO Fortnite Style” to use in-game as they discover the magically expansive “open worlds.”

To survive the ruthless LEGO terrain, gamers will have to stock up on enough “food and resources, craft items, build shelter and battle enemies,” which can be done by an individual or a team of “up to seven friends.”

LEGO Bricktales Review (Meta Quest)

LEGO has always put the utmost focus on creativity and customization, whether with its real-life block sets or media collaborations, and Fortnite x LEGO seems to be no different, as players will have to use their imagination and skills to create their “ultimate home base” utilizing the resources they find scattered all across the new universe, which can be carried out by recruiting fellow community members to get through the night.

From common elements that can be found anywhere to rare items only accessible in shady and hidden places, Epic and The LEGO Group promise an incomparable adventure, with updates already planned for “early 2024.”

LEGO Fortnite was released for free earlier today, on December 7.
