She attended The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she majored in painting and drawing, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine art in 2002. She graduated with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Fine/Studio Arts from Claremont Graduate University, in 2011.
