ESPN Films released a trailer Thursday night for "The Last Days of Knight," as part of their "30 for 30" series of sports documentaries.
The film was produced by Robert Abbott, then a producer for CNN/SI who worked on the original story in March 2000 about IU guard Neil Reed's claim that Knight choked him during a 1997 practice. Video obtained by CNN/SI supported Reed's story, even as Knight backers denied the report.
Knight was fired in September 2000 following an incident with a student after then-IU President Myles Brand had implemented a "zero-tolerance policy" in regards to the coach's conduct.
The network did not give an exact release date for the documentary's debut.
