According to law enforcement reports, Fenel Dalexis was engaged in what was described as a "voodoo-style" ritual within the confines of the home. The situation took a drastic turn when a female victim, also residing in the house, disrupted the ritual by extinguishing his candles with water.
The interruption ignited a heated altercation between Dalexis and the victim. Allegedly wielding a baton, the Florida man reportedly instilled a sense of terror in the victim, prompting her to fear for her life.
Things escalated further when Dalexis retrieved a firearm, using it to strike the victim's face with force, subsequently firing multiple shots. As the chaos unfolded, the police swiftly reached the home, guiding everyone out of the house.
Why was Fenel Dalexis arrested?
An injured female victim emerged from the ordeal, and it was apparent that the Florida man himself had sustained significant injuries during the altercation. Dalexis and the injured female were later transported to the hospital for medical attention, according to WESH.
The incident didn't spare the victim's younger brother, who suffered a grazing gunshot wound during the turmoil.
In the aftermath of the investigation, based on visible injuries and statements provided by those involved, the authorities determined that there was substantial evidence to charge Dalexis with a range of serious offenses, including attempted felony murder with a firearm, aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a firearm, and various counts of child abuse.
