4. Fred Savage directed you in Casual, and you also once guest-starred on Hot in Cleveland with Betty White. If you could go back in time and guest star on The Wonder Years or The Golden Girls, which show would you pick? "Oh my God, I love them both, but it would probably be The Golden Girls. I spent a summer in London, and I only got four channels on my TV. One of them had The Golden Girls playing around the clock. I was late to the game, but I watched a ton of Golden Girls. That cast is spectacular. Betty White reminds me so much of my grandmother that I just want to be around her all the time."

5. You're a born and raised Alabama boy. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a Southern gentleman would you say you are? "Oh man. I used to be like a 9, but L.A. has made me soft. [Laughs] I'm a 6 1/2, but if my mom is in town, it goes back up to a 9. You stand up when a lady walks into a room, etc. [But] I'll go 6 1/2 now."

6. In Casual, your character, Alex, says, "Men want bitchy and self-obsessed and challenging." What does Tommy want? "Oh, that sounds exhausting. I think challenging holds up for me. I think I want someone that challenges me and doesn't let me get away with everything. I don't want bitchy. Challenging is honest, and I like that." Guys say that a lot, but in what ways do you want someone to be challenging? "That's a good question. I think I can get lost in my head at times and need someone to snap me out of it. Like, 'Hey, pal, there's two of us here. Pay attention!' There's a sense that you challenge the relationship to be better, and I think that's what I mean. If both parties can challenge and nurture the relationship, that's a good thing."
