Guide for Unravel Two - Game Basics

Unravel Two
The core gameplay from the original Unravel remains the same - grappling nodes (this is how I will refer to the small red and blue wraps of yarn throughout the game that you can interact with) with a lasso, swinging and using momentum to cover greater distances and get to out of reach ledges or nodes, and solving physics-based puzzles. The new mechanic is that the game is designed around co-op play with two Yarnys instead of one that you can control solo or with a couch co-op partner. When playing solo, you can split the Yarnys up and one will stay where you leave it while you control the other.
The game is comprised of seven levels and 20 short, challenging bonus levels accessible through a central hub. You need to play through the six non-tutorial main levels both without dying and under a par time for achievements. I'll be given written breakdowns of the levels (which are completely linear) as well as video supplements- my successful speedruns. The written guides will basically transcribe the steps I take in the speedruns, often using faster strategies that may not be obvious to someone who plays through levels for the first time. I'll also include video timestamps for the trickier or more complicated puzzles so you can easily see how to get through them.
There is a fairly robust hint system, offering three levels of hints that increase in clarity ending in full explanation. You may opt to play through the game initially at your leisure and possibly with the help of the hint system, then seek guidance from my vids/breakdowns in order to maximize efficiency for the speedruns, which are the hardest challenges in the game.
The 20 bonus levels are unlocked by completing the main levels and you will need to play through all 20 in a single session in under 45 minutes for an achievement.
It's up to you to determine your best path through the achievements. You could play through the levels one at a time to accomplish the no death run and speedrun before moving on to the next level. Or you could play through the levels just to complete them, then go back and work on no death runs and speedruns as you see fit. I found the Chapter II: Hideaway speedrun to be far more difficult than the rest so I would suggest leaving that one for last. After you complete the main level achievements, I suggest playing through the bonus levels to learn the puzzles and practice them several times each until you are comfortable in getting through them quickly, then trying for the one session sub-45 minute completion.
Controls
The tutorial level, Foreign Shore, walks you through the controls and basic maneuvers such as grappling, tethered swinging, etc.
An important note is that all nodes will show a colored circular field around them when you get close (matching the color of the active Yarny). You must be within this field in order to lasso to them.
One achievement requires playing through a level in co-op with a second controller. The can be done in any main level or in any bonus level (which are considerably shorter) and is easily done solo. You must have the second player logged in before starting the level and upon completion, an achievement will unlock:
Also note that there are numerous collectibles throughout the levels but since there are no associated achievements, I will not be pointing them out.
And finally - there is no visible timer for the speedruns. The timer seems to start as soon as you enter the portal to start the level and ends once the loading screen starts at the end of the level AFTER the end-of-level scene. Time during the intro scene, end scene, and any cutscenes in the level all count.
