Halloween Costumes for Brides and Bridesmaids

Halloween's a mere two weeks and two days away. Do you have your costume ready? If not, try one of these six Halloween costumes that are just perfect for brides and bridesmaids.
Runaway Bride
After I learned that it would cost more to repair the secondhand wedding dress I got at a charity sale than to buy a new one I really loved, I decided I'd go for an unworn wedding gown. What to do with dress number-one? Why, use it for a Halloween costume, of course! As you can see here, I wore a sweatband, a ponytail, and a wedding dress. I also attempted to create a bib number like marathoners wear (it's upside down, but the text says, "Race from the Altar;" the only photo of me that Halloween was taken at the end of the night, hence the upside-down number), and I wore sneakers to complete the look. Easy, peasy, as long as you can get your hands on a white dress.
Bridezilla
This one's also a piece of cake: Wear a wedding gown (or any white dress, really) and a Godzilla head. If Halloween costumes like these make you claustrophobic, skip the over-the-head accessory and slap on some green face paint instead. Take the costume one step further and make it look like you're breathing fire: Create flames out of oak tag or cardboard-backed construction paper and attach them to the side of a headband.
Always a Bridesmaid
Got four bridesmaid dresses that you'll never wear again? Now you can wear them all again in one fell swoop. Cut each one down the center (take that, taffeta!) and again down the side seam so you have one-quarter of each dress. Sew the pieces together (plan how you'll get into and out of the dress before you fuse them) and voila: four awful bridesmaid dresses in one. Finish the look with an updo. Ooh, and tendrils!
