LOS ANGELES -- Andrew Getty, grandson of oil baron J. Paul Getty was found dead in his Los Angeles home, Los Angeles police confirm to CBS News.
Police said the 47-year-old heir to the Getty fortune was found about 2:18 p.m. Tuesday after an emergency call was made, CBS Los Angeles reported. Firefighters responded and found Getty unresponsive in his bathroom and declared him deceased.
The Los Angeles Times reported that two weeks ago, Getty sought a restraining order against a woman, court records show. His attorney did not comment.
Getty's grandfather created a merger of several oil companies in the 1960s to become one of the world's wealthiest men. Andrew is one of four sons of Gordon Getty, who himself has a net worth of $2.1 billion, according to Forbes.
An unnamed female was detained by authorities as a person of interest. The cause of death remained undetermined Tuesday night.
