How To Complete The Jewel Thief Request

Requests in Resident Evil 4 Remake can be very difficult as you fight multiple strong enemies at once or very simple fetch quests. While there is a wide range of complexity with these requests, they are always beneficial to compete as they earn your special Spinels to spend.

This special currency can be traded to the merchant for some incredible rewards, including a few guns that can only be obtained through trades. Like many of the other destroy medallion requests, the Jewel Thief request is very simple and only has you going to a single location. While it may seem like Leon is on the clock to save Ashley, he always has some extra time to help out his local merchant, whose dealing with his usual daily issues.
The Crow & The Nest
After finishing up at the hive below the castle, you'll be returned to the main section floor, where you'll obtain this request. It's also best to complete the other request, The Disgrace Of The Salazar Family, found right next to this one first, as it's located in the throne room, and Jewel Thief will send you backtracking a good bit through the castle. This request is located within the Courtyard of the castle and will have you running back through the Ballroom and Grand Hall to reach it.
After entering the maze in the Courtyard, you'll see a crow perched on the archway, flying away as you approach. The maze has also repopulated with new enemies, so be prepared. The jewel is located within the crow's nest on the other side of the Courtyard. Ignore the maze, as while the request says the nest is in the Courtyard, it's in the section before the maze you passed through on your first trip through. Head back through the maze to the area before, stopping and looking to the left after walking through the large gate. Looking up at the nearby roof's edge will show the crow sitting in its nest.

Retrieving The Jewel
To get the jewel back, you'll need to shoot the nest to knock it down. It's recommended you use a handgun and not waste any real bullets on such a simple request. After shooting down the nest, the scratched jewel will fall to the ground below, with you able to walk through the small archway and retrieve the jewel.
To complete the request, you'll need to sell the gem back to the merchant. Luckily this nest is located very close to a merchant. With the scratched jewel in hand, turn to the left and run through the nearby door to enter one of the merchant's hideouts, marked by the usual blue flame. Head inside and sell the scratched jewel back to the merchant to complete the request, receiving the three spinels and money for the emerald as a reward.
