Modern Warfare 2 is out and had the best-selling opening weekend in the history of Call Of Duty. Millions are jumping in and grinding the game to unlock all its weapons and rewards in order to come out on top in all their multiplayer matches. Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 feature many returning weapons like the M4 and also the MP5, which has curiously been renamed to the Lachmann Sub.

The Lachmann Sub is a Submachine Gun that performs exceptionally well from close to mid-range and has a super high DPS due to its high rate of fire. The gun also excels in mobility, handling, and recoil control, making it a perfect choice for aggressive players who prefer a run-and-gun play style. While this weapon will be desirable among most, the Lachmann Sub cannot be unlocked via traditional means, and you will have to progress through the Lachmann-762's weapon tree to access it. Here is how to unlock the Lachmann Sub and the best attachments to equip.

Unlocking The Lachmann Sub
In order to unlock the Lachmann Sub in Modern Warfare 2, you must first fulfill the following prerequisites. Firstly, you will need to unlock the Lachmann-762, which is a Battle Rifle that is made available once you reach level 16. Next, you will need to get your Lachmann-762 to weapon level 13, and by doing so, you will be given access to the Lachmann-556 Assault Rifle. Now, all that is left is to get your Lachmann-556 to weapon level 12 to gain access to the Lachmann Sub. Leveling up your weapons is a pretty simple task, as all you need to do is use them in your matches and gain eliminations. But if you want to level up your weapons twice as fast, then keep looking for double weapon XP events in Modern Warfare 2.

The attachments we have chosen for the Lachmann Sub will drastically improve its accuracy, as well as boost the range, damage, and recoil control. However, this is at the cost of a small amount of mobility. The XTEN RR-40 muzzle attachment is our first pick, which will boost the effective range of the Lachmann Sub, as well as keep you off enemy compasses whilst firing your weapon. This attachment will also smoothen out that recoil for added precision and allow your bullets to reach targets faster by upping the bullet velocity.
Next, go ahead and equip the FTAC TIGER GRIP and the LACHMANN TCG-10. Doing so will add more control to your recoil to improve those mid-range engagements. Hip fire accuracy is also increased, proving useful for times when you are caught by surprise and need to fire from the hip. The VLK LZR 7MW laser is also a must-have attachment because it will drastically increase your ADS and sprint-to-fire speeds. This is especially useful for an SMG class, as you will want to be as agile as possible. Getting your gun up faster will tailor this gun for a run-and-gun playstyle.
For the final attachment, we have chosen the 40-ROUND MAG. This attachment will boost your magazine ammo capacity from 30 to 40 rounds, making the gun more viable for racking up killstreaks in a single life. You can equip the 50-Round Drum magazine, but doing so will slow down your weapon significantly. We find that the 40-ROUND MAG provides a better balance for speed and holding more rounds in your gun.

For all you regular Multiplayer players out there, go ahead and create a custom Perk Package with the above-listed perks. Our first pick for your Base Perks is Tracker. Tracker will prove exceptionally useful for chasing down enemy players due to the footprint trail they leave behind. This way, you can always keep track of opponents and make use of the Lachmann Sub's effectiveness at close range. Tracker also provides the added benefit of hiding kill skulls from the enemy team, allowing you to use stealth to your advantage.
Scavenger should definitely be your second option. This way, you can also ensure your primary weapon is always full of ammunition, making it more viable for gaining killstreaks and even an MGB nuke. Next, go ahead and use Fast Hands to drastically improve your reload speed. This will help compensate for the reduced reload speed brought on by the 40-ROUND MAG. Lastly, go ahead and equip Quick Fix as your Ultimate Perk. You could run a Stim, but unfortunately, you can only have one in your inventory at a time. So, Quick Fix will be the best option for quickly starting your health regeneration so long as you are getting kills. This will greatly benefit players who want to increase their lifespan and rack up more streaks.
For all you Warzone players out there, you will have to choose one of the preset Perk Packages. We recommend taking the Weapon Specialist Perk Package. This way, you can take an Assault Rifle with you for long-range engagements. Your alternative option can be the Specter Perk Package. This perk package is great for stealth, including both Tracker and Ghost. If you decide to run the latter option, you might also need to purchase an Assault Rifle from a Buy Station.
Secondary Recommendation
For your Multiplayer loadout, go ahead and equip a launcher capable of taking down killstreaks. This is because you will be especially vulnerable to enemy UAVs. The best launchers in this regard are the PILA and the JOKR.
For your Warzone loadout, carrying a weapon capable of performing well at mid-to-long range would be best. The top Assault Rifles in this category include the TAQ-56, the Kastov 762, and the M16.
