Tyson Fury is arguably the greatest heavyweight boxer on the planet. ‘The Gypsy King’ as he is known, is undefeated in 31 fights, with 30 wins and 1 draw. Many have tried and failed, even the dangerous Deontay Wilder couldn’t defeat him in two attempts. However, he will try again this weekend at the T-Mobile Arena, during his trilogy fight against Fury.
Fury will be defending his WBD and the Ring heavyweight titles when he faces Wilder. He will hoping to come off with a win and go on to unify the heavyweight belt, to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
With the fight inching closer, Tyson Fury spoke to Ariel Helwani in the latest episode of MMA Hour. In what was an enlightening conversation, Fury revealed how he was “blessed, not lucky” to be living the life he has now. The Brit stated how much sacrifice had gone in during his early 20s.
“I’m lucky because I f***** trained so hard” – Tyson Fury
Tyson Fury was quoted as saying, “When people say to me, ‘You know what? You’re lucky.’ I’m lucky because I f***** worked all hours that God gave me. I’m lucky because I pushed it further than everybody else would dare to do. I’m lucky because I f***** trained so hard that I can’t be beaten. That’s a lucky man? I don’t think so.
He continued, “I’m not lucky. I’m blessed. I’m blessed to have that determination, that drive. And it’s not for success. It’s just to be happy today, tomorrow and the next day. But most importantly, be happy for today because tomorrow is no certain gift at all.” [firstsportz.com]
Fury will be looking forward to ending his rivalry with Wilder once for all, when he squares off against ‘The Bronze Bomber’. The scoreline in the rivalry currently reads 1 win, 1 draw and no-loss in favour of Fury. Their last meeting was in February 2020 – Wilder suffered his first-ever career loss at the hands of Fury.
