Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, a Nigerian artist, has disclosed that he earned his first million Naira at the age of 17.

In a recent interview with Z100 New York, the Dumebi crooner revealed this.

He claimed to have given all of the money to his mother.

“The person I knew needed it more was my mum,” the 20-year-old explained, “So I gave her all I had made. As a 17-year-old, I remember thinking it was awesome to drive about town in a cool whip. But I can’t drive a cool whip if my mother doesn’t have a car or if she has to borrow my keys. I had to put her on first, you know.”

“I’m giving her everything, whatever investment she makes… I made my first million [naira] when I was 17, but I made more than that. But it’s great to be in that position where you can provide [for your family].

The 24-year-old singer described his greatest accomplishment as being able to care for his family and open doors for others.

“Someone created an opportunity for me to bless the world this much,” he remarked. “So I have no idea how much the people I assisted will bless the world. You know, I don’t only work hard for myself. I go all out for them. I want to open doors for them like they open for me.”

His proudest moment, he says, was when fans sang his song ‘Calm Down‘ word for word during his concert in Australia last year.
