The Kerala Blasters host East Bengal in Kochi on October 7, the first game of the 2022-23 Indian Super League (ISL) season. The ISL is returning to the home-and-away format after two seasons in the bio bubble. Jamshedpur FC took home the League Shield, while Hyderabad FC took home the ISL trophy.
The teams and coaches for the upcoming season are among the many other things that have changed. The format has also been slightly altered.

Earlier, the playoffs were made possible by the top four teams at the conclusion of the league stage. However, the ISL’s upcoming season will also feature elimination games to select the semifinalists. The two teams that finished in the top two places will go directly to the semi-finals, but the third-place team will play the sixth-place team, and the fourth-place club will play the fifth-place team to decide who will go to the other two semi-final spots.
