Jorge Masvidal has denied cheating in his final MMA fight.
‘Gamebred’ was hoping to snap his three-fight losing streak and catapult himself into welterweight title contention by beating Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 last weekend.

However, he ended up slumping to a unanimous decision defeat against ‘Durinho’ before announcing his 20-year career in the sport is over following a fourth consecutive loss.
Mere moments after his retirement announcement, Masvidal was facing cheating allegations from his opponent, who accused him of greasing before their UFC 287 co-main event bout.
Burns said: “That guy was slippery.
“It’s an old dog Miami trick with the lotion because he was so slippery. Wow.
“I know those old tricks those guys do. They wake up and they take the first shower, and they pass a lot of lotion on their body. The skin absorbs the lotion. After three hours, you do it again.”
And though he won, the Brazilian believes he would have recorded the stoppage had Masvidal not supposedly used lotion.

Burns added: “100 per cent (I would have finished him).
“I dominated the guy on the floor. If I had a little bit less lotion, I think I could get it done.”
On Monday, ‘Gamebred’ denied greasing ahead of UFC 287 and suggested Burns needs to focus on his wrestling technique rather than spreading theories about his inability to find a finish.
Masvidal told The MMA Hour: “There’s a commission. There was, like, three commissioners backstage. There’s numerous people backstage besides [UFC anti-doping partner U.S. Anti-Doping Agency].

“I’ve never greased, I’ve never been caught for cheating or anything. Maybe I’m the sweatiest motherf***** he knows, but I’ve never greased.
“I’ve never put on anything in my life for forever. I’ve never done that in my life. Maybe he should blame his technique for f****** being shitty, not being able to do anything but just hold on the ground.”
Masvidal went on to explain his retirement decision and suggest he may one day return to fighting for a boxing match but that won’t be happening anytime soon.
He added: “I always wanted to do boxing fights, but as of right now, I would say no to all of it.
"If something crazy came about, yeah, I would entertain it. Obviously, first and foremost, I’d have to get the UFC’s permission.
"They’d have to be the ones that to grace me with that because I’m still under contract with the UFC.”
