Claressa Shields is one of the boxing world’s legends and recently Shields announced that next year she will start her professional MMA carrier with Professional Fighters League (PFL). It does not stop there as she is determined as she starts to learn from popular names in MMA like Jon Jones, Holly Holm and seek guidance from The Notorious’ Connor McGregor himself.

Shields, 25 years of age, has demonstrated willingness to excel in both hemispheres of the fight world by making a career for herself where boxing and MMA can coexist as her professionally fought sport.

Her agreement with the PFL is yet to be spoken about and people are unclear about how she will work this out. They will more than likely, worked out something so that she can compete in both sports. Fans are eager to know what weight would be her ideal weight to fight at as many experts say that a 155-pound weight would work best for her as she naturally walks around at that weight.

The female boxer has begun her crack into the public scene by demanding respect in a debatably disrespectful way. She may be up there in boxing but only time will tell us how good she can back up her words. Recently, in an interview with The MacLife she had this to say:

“MMA fans need to bow down and kiss my feet and throw rose petals because I’m actually making the transition,” Shields said, to Bleacher Report. “I’m not just saying it. I’m actually doing it. So give me my props. Never say that Claressa Shields is scared of nobody.

“I could just stay in boxing and make my money. But before I turned pro, I read this quote and it said: ‘If your dreams don’t scare you a little bit, they’re not worth dreaming.’

“When I read that, it’s what made me sign a contract to turn professional in boxing. That’s why I turned pro, and I did exactly what I said I would: I’m the greatest woman of all time [in boxing]. I aspire to do the same thing in MMA.”

Conor McGregor’s coach had something else to say about the demands made by Claressa Sheilds.

There has been a lot of conversation about how good of an athlete she is that she can switch between boxing and MMA. How much of a test of skills it would be to Sheilds. She may not have a lot of experience under her belt for wrestling or grappling yet, but she also has plenty of fighting experience. How do you see her breaking into the MMA scene?
