The ongoing Australian Open has seen yet another epic five-setter match. It was a clash between the two top-ten-seeded players, Andrey Rublev and Holger Rune. The fifth seed Rublev went on to win 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (11-9) against the Dane. It was so close that the tide kept shifting in favor of both players from time to time. Fans went berserk watching these top seeds play in the match, hitting aces and winners.

However, the best part of the match was the fifth-set tiebreak. The Russian was 3-7 behind Rune and was on the verge of a defeat, but he won the next six points and went into a 9-7 lead. This epic comeback from Rublev sealed him the tiebreak, set, and match.

Fans took to Twitter appreciating the duo for such an intense match. Some went on saying it was the best match of the tournament so far. While others recalled the nail-biting tiebreak and Rublev’s comeback. Few netizens also felt that the match was a roller coaster with the way the momentum shifted throughout.

Tennis fans across the globe lauded the duo for an entertaining match. People compared this match with watching four Grand Slam finals combined. Others reminded that though the match was interesting, it had a bit bizarre ending with the ball touching the net before falling in. People sent Rublev their best wishes for his performance today and for reaching the quarterfinals of this year’s first Major.
