For decades now, fans have pined for Owen Hart to take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Hart, the 1994 King of the Ring and former two-time Intercontinental champion, four-time Tag Team champion and one-time European champion, died at the Over the Edge pay-per-view back in 1999, at just 34 years old.

The Canadian was a beloved performer in WWE and was especially loved by his peers for the jokes he would pull backstage.
Mark Henry made an emotional, public plea during his induction to the Hall of Fame in 2018 and Owen's brother, the legendary Bret Hart, has called for Owen's inclusion several times down the years.
The WWE would love to have him in it, but Owen's widow, Martha Hart, won't allow it - as she solely blames the WWE for Owen's death.
The incident will be explored in detail in a new episode of Vice's Dark Side of the Ring on Tuesday.
Owen Hart was being lowered to the ring as part of his buffoonish Blue Blazer gimmick. He had a harness that had a quick-release mechanism that was accidentally triggered early. As a result, Hart fell from nearly 80 feet and landed chest-first on a top rope. He would die from blunt trauma.

In an interview with CBSSports to promote the episode, Martha explained how WWE cut corners with the equipment and the staff overseeing it in a bid to save money.
When asked about Owen potentially going in the Hall of Fame, Martha held no punches.
"There's always been this talk that, 'Oh, we want to put Owen in the Hall of Fame'," she said. "Their Hall of Fame? They don't even have a Hallway of Fame. It doesn't exist. There's nothing. It's a fake entity. There's nothing real or tangible. It's just an event they have to make money.
"They put it on TV and have a celebration, and it's just so ridiculous. I would never even entertain it. It's garbage."

While all wrestling fans would selfishly love to see Owen Hart celebrated for the amazing performer he was, we have to understand or at least accept where his widow is coming from here.
