Paul Haddad, Voice Actor for Leon in Resident Evil 2, Passes Away at 56

As the voice of Leon S. Kennedy in the original Resident Evil 2, actor Paul Haddad set the tone for one of the Resident Evil series’ most iconic characters that would appear in multiple installments down the line. Having brought a distinct voice to such a beloved character, Haddad left his mark on the series after unfortunately passing away this week.

Actor Paul Haddad, who was the original voice for Leon in RE2, has passed away at the age of 56, reportedly from throat cancer. The news of Haddad’s passing was confirmed by developer Invader Studios, who most recently worked with Haddad on the survival-horror game Daymare: 1998.

Aside from his role as Leon in Resident Evil 2, Haddad had an extensive career that spanned decades across television and other mediums. Some his most notable work includes voice roles on X-Men: The Animated Series, MacGyver, The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, Babar, and many more.

Actor Nick Apostolides, who voiced Leon in last year’s Resident Evil 2 remake, shared a tweet and video message on YouTube as a tribute with his thoughts on the passing of Paul Haddad.
