As the world moves into June and a brand new season, so does Pokemon GO.
Niantic’s AR hit leaves behind the Season of Legends and steps into the Season of Discovery.
As the Season of Legends is in the rear-view mirror, so are the Legendary Pokemon that came with it, including Thundurus, Landorus and Tornadus, as well as the debuting Xerneas and Yveltal.
Instead, they’ve been replaced with Regirock, Regice and Registeel. Can they be shiny in Pokemon GO though? Let’s take a look.
What do The Shiny Forms of the Trio Look Like?
Honestly, the three Legendary Regi’s shiny forms aren’t the most amazing.
Shiny Regirock effectively turns into a darker version of its non-shiny form, with some of its features slightly amplified.

Shiny Regice is even more underwhelming as it’s icy blue colour just turns a little big more.. blue?
The best of the three, but still not amazing by any means, is Registeel. It sheds its steely silvery/grey colour for a rust copper green.

Overall, it’s safe to say that none of these three will be making any top Pokemon GO shiny lists any time soon.
So, Can Regirock, Regice and Registeel be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
Thankfully for shiny hunters, the simple answer is yes.
The trio have had their shiny forms available since all the way back in 2019, during the Colossal Discovery research tasks.
Unfortunately for players, the only way to get them is by spending precious raid passes. The trio will, however, be available for just under three weeks, presenting plenty of opportunities to encounter their shiny variants.
