As part of the brand new Luminous Legends Y event, Niantic has given the Team GO Rocket Grunts a little shakeup.

There are new shadow Pokemon and a bunch of new Pokemon types, which means there is a range of new phrases to get used to.

One of these new phrases is “Check Out My Cute Pokemon”. Here is everything you need to know about these Grunts including what types they use, what Pokemon they use and the best counters for them.

What Type of Pokemon do the “Check out my Cute Pokemon” Grunts use?

Players may be used to phrases such as “Ke Ke Ke” and “Normal does not mean weak” however, “Check out my cute Pokemon” is a new one.

This is because these Grunts use a brand new type for Team GO Rocket.

The Pokemon you can expect to face will all be Fairy-type, which is in keeping with the Luminous Legends events.

Sylveon, the Intertwining Pokémon, is making its Pokémon GO debut during the upcoming Luminous Legends Y event! You’ll be able to evolve your own Eevee into Sylveon by earning hearts when it’s your buddy.

What Pokemon Can They Bring To Battle?

Players shouldn’t expect too much variety when facing these Grunts.

The line-up you can expect to see is as follows:

  • Slot One – Snubbull
  • Slot Two – Snubbull or Granbull
  • Slot Three – Granbull

What are the Best Counters for These Pokemon?

Due to both Snubbull and Granbull’s pure Fairy typing, the pair have two weaknesses – Poison and Steel.

That means, the best counters you can use are as follows:

  • Mega Gengar – Lick/Sludge Bomb
  • Mega Beedrill – Poison Jab/Sludge Bomb
  • Metagross – Bullet Punch/Meteor Mash
  • Dialga – Metal Claw/Iron Head
  • Roserade – Poison Jab/Sludge Bomb
  • Genesect – Metal Claw/Magnet Bomb
  • Excadrill – Metal Claw/Iron Head

Of course, while these Pokemon are your best choices, any strong Steel or Poison-types should do the trick when tackling these grunts.
