And here's what I think:

Thank you so much for reaching out! I think that yours is a dilemma a lot of women face, especially those in their early 20s. You've got the world ahead of you and you're excited to take it on. Meanwhile, the fellow next to you is happy chilling in neutral.

Before you decide to what to do about your relationship, have a serious sit down chat with your boyfriend. Make sure you're both on the same page about your relationship. It sounds like you're thinking of long-term potential. Is he? Have you two talked about your future together?

Through this discussion, you should be able to segue into your long term goals in life. If he's happy to stay in town but you've been bitten by the travel bug, that could cause bigger problems down the road. And if you're getting a little bored with the current state of your relationship, how do you see yourself (if at all) finding excitement with him once again?

One thing to keep in mind is that nearly all relationships are exciting in the early stages. You're learning all about each other and there are so many fun personal stories to share. If you haven't already, try wrangling him along with you when you give new experiences a go. Encourage him to go with you to out-there art shows, high-concept new restaurants, funky flea markets and the like. If you two are getting bored, create some excitement by trying new things together.

Despite it all, it sounds like your fellow really is a sweetheart. If you care for each other, stick around and see what the relationship goes into. If you're unsure about the long-term status of your relationship, consider your life without him. Would you feel really down if you two broke up? Or would you feel a sense of relief? Either way, it's important to have that deep discussion with your man sooner, rather than later.

What do you ladies think our reader should do? Have you ever found yourself in a similar situation? And are you usually the more driven one in your relationships? Or is your partner?
