The water rose quickly, trapping people inside their homes. Reporter Anthony Kustura was on the scene and could see dozens of police officers and firefighters.

The fire department responded with half a dozen fire trucks and four boats in the event they needed to rescue someone.

Charlotte Fire says they responded for a “worst-case-scenario” when residents in the Arrowwood Mobile Home Park in Steele Creek called about severe flooding around 3 this morning. Of the 40 homes potentially impacted, no one was hurt. @wsoctv

Channel 9 watched as emergency crews with flashlights waded through the water, knocking on doors to make sure the people inside all 40 mobile homes were OK. Ultimately, no rescues were needed.

By 6 a.m. the water was still high but was continuing to recede.

Channel 9 was told that the area is prone to flooding, but residents said it has never been as bad as it was Thursday morning.

Nobody was hurt but the fire department was helping two people because the risk was still too high for them to return home.
