Aaron Rodgers is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the world of the NFL. It was evident that the Packers will try to make him stay with them, however, the NFL world was shocked when they gave the 4x League MVP-winning quarterback a massive deal.
While some think the Packers were right to back Rodgers, some believe it was a bold move to go all-in for him. Anyway, it was evident that the Packers would have to cut down on their other expenses as they have spent a lot on retaining their favorite QB.
Davante Adams becomes the highest-paid WR in NFL history
Packers wide receiver Davante Adams had earlier informed the Green Bay Packers that he will not play under the franchise tag in the coming season and now, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the Las Vegas Raiders are all set to acquire Adams from the Green Bay Packers.
Sources: The #Raiders are in the final stages of trading for #Packers star WR Davante Adams, who receives a new contract that makes him the highest paid WR in the NFL. A blockbuster.
Las Vegas sends back a 1st round pick, potentially more picks and a player.

In exchange, the Raiders would have to give their 2022 first and second-round picks. Moreover, as per reports, Davante has been offered a five-year, $141.25 million contract by the Raiders. Adams is set to make a per-year average of $28.25 million which eventually makes him the new highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history.
This apparently did not go down well with the Packers fans who blamed Rodgers for what happened with Davante.
So basically Aaron Rodgers took all the money and told Davante Adams deal with the tag? Got it. What a great teammate.

Davante Adams was like a brother to Aaron Rodgers, so this trade makes sense.

Davante Adams, the NFL's best receiver, basically just said he's had enough of Aaron Rodgers, now the NFL's most overpaid player. Can't blame Davante. Aaron is all about Aaron. Congrats, 17.

Davante’s absence will definitely hurt the Packers in the coming season. Moreover, after signing a huge contract which played a huge role in Davante’s eventual trade, Aaron Rodgers would now have extra pressure on his shoulders to deliver.
