On the The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 13 reunion, which aired in May 2023, Melissa Gorga revealed that though her family moved into their Franklin Lakes home in November 2022, they were “still doing a lot of work to the outside” of the house.

Sure, the Gorgas' outdoor oasis took some time to complete, but we can all agree that good things take time. Also, judging by how the backyard of the New Jersey home turned out, which you can view in the video tour above, that time was definitely worth it.

In the video, The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member first points to the "awesome feature" in her kitchen: a large sliding glass door that opens up to the back patio for that "indoor-outdoor" vibe (East Coast weather permitting).

The midcentury-style black chairs with white cushions and large round black table give the patio an elegant upgrade while the rectangular black lantern sconces and ivory outdoor fireplace provide a cozy feel.

Also on the patio is an impressive outdoor kitchen area, including a grill, smoker, and more.

A gorgeous shot of the pool shows more jaw-dropping details of the setup, including a serene set of daybeds, white deck chairs with black cushions, a Baja shelf in the pool with built-in white lounge chairs, and more.

Next to the pool is even more lounge space with a contemporary elegant design, including large black chairs and a long black loveseat with cream-colored cushions. The furniture sits atop sleek concrete pavers amid black stones and surrounds a show-stopping rectangular fireplace.

"I really wanted to backyard to look like a resort," Melissa explains. "So I wanted the cabanas. I wanted lots of lounge chairs. We also did lots of fireplaces that you can kind of sit around. Hearing the waterfalls, that is my favorite thing. It makes everything feel so peaceful and tranquil."

With a backyard like this, every day is a vacation!

Melissa Gorga shares the design details of her backyard

In addition to showing off the details of her New Jersey home in the above video tour, in 2023, Melissa revealed more intricate information about the design of her backyard.

In an August 2023 Instagram post, the RHONJ mom thanked New Jersey pool builders The Pool Boss for their handiwork.

“My very good friend happens to be an amazing pool designer […] [The Pool Boss] thank you for giving my family exactly what we wanted,” Melissa captioned the post which showcased the details of the pool area. The mom of three also noted her "day beds" were from outdoor furniture retailer The Wickery.

The Pool Boss also shared images of the completed backyard, showing how the upper and lower patio areas perfectly flowed out to the pool.

“We are so excited to showcase The Affluence at this magazine worthy backyard in Franklin Lakes belonging to [Melissa and Joe],” the company captioned several photos. “This entire backyard is screaming [five-star] resort.”
