Singer-songwriter Lesley Gore, who topped the charts in 1963 at the age of 16 with her song "It's My Party" has died.
Singer-songwriter Lesley Gore, who topped the charts in 1963 at the age of 16 with her song "It's My Party" has died.
Gore was discovered by Quincy Jones as a teenager and signed to Mercury Records. She followed up her song of teenage angst, with "Judy's Turn to Cry" and "You Don't Own Me."
She also played Catwoman's sidekick in the cult TV comedy "Batman."
Lesley Gore died of cancer at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
She was 68 years old.
