Bimbo Akintola, a Nigerian actress and talk show host, has spoken out about the film industry’s role in the spread of societal decadence.
She stated that Nollywood should not be blamed for what children are doing these days because the problem can be traced back to a decaying standard of upbringing.
According to the thespian, today’s women are so preoccupied with their jobs that they don’t have time to provide informal instruction for their children at home.

In an interview, Bimbo Akintola stated that the cinema industry just reflects societal vices rather than creating them.
The TV host recalled being raised by her mother, which was standard at the time but, according to her, is no longer available in society because parents are working hard to acquire money.

When asked if she believes movies play a part in teaching children immorality, she responded,
“It is not true that movies are responsible for societal decadence.
” Yes, the business teaches on what is going on in society; nevertheless, are you saying that Nigerians no longer nurture their children at home? I recall my childhood and can tell you what was true and what was not. Mothers are becoming increasingly busy in today’s culture. With current circumstances, both parents must earn money in order to maintain their children affluent.”
“Children are now practically raised by nobody. My mother brought us up. She ran a large store that closed at the same time as our schools. She was a millionaire, but she always came home to see us. However, parents can no longer afford to do so. Back then, many mothers stayed at home, but women nowadays cannot afford to do so. The industry is not the cause of societal problems. Rather, it is a reflection of societal problems.”
