Statesville residents want to 'Stop the Violence' with rally – WSOC TV

STATESVILLE, N.C. — In an effort to stop crime in Statesville, people came together to bring the community closer together.
Police led the way for the Statesville Stop the Violence parade on Saturday.
Residents bonded over food and entertainment at Harris Park, while speakers shared stories on how local violence has impacted them.

Zeron White, the event's organizer, said the idea is to show people how they affect one another.
“You see some of these wanna-be thugs, as I call them, come out and see everyone fellowshipping and worshipping, it does something to them,” White said.
This was the third year for the Stop the Violence event.
