Tiny Details Anime Fans May Must Have Missed in Mackenyu’s Gory Sword Fight as Zoro in One Piece Live Action

The One Piece live-action series has become one of the biggest hits not only in Netflix’s history but also in anime adaptations. Roronoa Zoro, just like in the manga and anime, became an instant favorite for many fans while watching One Piece live-action. Zoro was always adored for his charismatic persona, iconic swordplay, and sharp demeanor. Mackenyu did an excellent job of bringing the character to life, and he did so with such swagger that he quickly became one of the fan-favorites.
However, there were some tiny details about the iconic character Zoro, that anime fans might have missed in the live-action. These details may be important to understand the further development of the character and future of the series.
Roronoa Zoro’s Introduction in One Piece Live-Action
Roronoa Zoro is the first person to join Monkey D. Luffy’s gang, appearing barely a few chapters into the plot. However, Zoro gets to demonstrate just how dangerous he is before even meeting his prospective commander. Zoro’s introduction in the source material differed greatly from the live-action version. Zoro’s debut begins with a confrontation with a strange individual who introduces himself as Mr. 7 of Baroque Works. He is attempting to entice Zoro to join his organization. However, Zoro rudely declines, prompting Mr. 7 to draw his swords and assault. It proves a poor decision, however, as Zoro quickly dispatches his opponent, slashing him in half.
The live-action introduction of Roronoa Zoro is canon because it matches the storyline from the source which could be seen in season 2. Zoro references the fight to several Baroque Works agents in the future. Also, the design of the first Mr. 7 was something that was not even present in the anime and manga series. It was drawn by Eiichiro Oda for his SBS volume.
The Island on which Roronoa Zoro Was Introduced
Zoro was introduced in the live-action version while fighting Mr. 7 on Sixis Island. Many fans are unaware that Sixis is an island in East Blue where Ace was stranded at the beginning of his trip. Other than the fact that the island is surrounded by strange, turbulent currents, little is known about its geography. Portgas D. Ace and Masked Deuce were stranded on Sixis three years before the series began, with no way of departing. Deuce later noticed Ace enjoying a piece of fruit and determined to kill him because he couldn’t locate any food or water. However, his scheme backfired, and Ace surprised him by offering him part of the fruit, thereby repairing their relationship.
It was later discovered that the fruit that Ace ate was Mera Mera No Mi which gave him his devil fruit powers. Deuce, on the other hand, did not gain the fruit’s powers because Ace ate it first.
