STF: Do you still have any of the clothes you wore on set back then?

AM: I don't have any of the wardrobe but I do still have some of my personal clothes from the 80s in boxes in my garage. Growing up, my mom was a fashion designer and I always wished she had saved that stuff for me, so I kept a lot of stuff.

STF: So are you pleased to see Samantha Micelli's style and the 80s making their big comeback? Or do you wish all of that would just stay in the past?

AM: You know, I kind of love it. The thing that I really love about the 80s is, there was a sense of hand made-ness about the fashion then. You could have a pair of jeans and dump some bleach on them, and make them something that was really trendy for that era. I would bleach my jeans, cut them up, lace them up with colored shoe laces, put safety pins in them--everything had a real DIY feel to it, and I kind of miss that.

STF: Any other 80s trends you're still feeling?

AM: I mean, any time a trend comes back from the 80s, I always go through a bit of hesitation embracing them. When leggings came back a few years ago I was like "really?!" but I'll eventually come around and figure out how to make it look more relevant for today. I still wear leg warmers with minidresses and boots in the winter. I never grew out of, wearing Converse high tops with dresses. Oh and I'm still wearing scrunchies--it's the only thing that doesn't leave a ridge in my hair!

STF: Any 80s trends you'd absolutely never try again?

AM: I wouldn't give a try to the parachute pants—I'm five foot two, so that wouldn't really work with the body type. I probably wouldn't try the layered sock thing again. I definitely wouldn't do the side ponytail again.

Really, Alyssa?? Because that is a look we would LOVE to see...
