On Thursday, Pantone announced that 2017's Color of the Year would be 'Greenery'—basically a fancy way of saying "green." If the shade looks unfamiliar to you, it's possible you haven't been getting enough outdoor time? (Kidding.) It's apparently a common color of grass and plants.

Pantone's announcement oozed with optimism saying the "fresh and zesty yellow-green" color reflected that the world was ready to shed the gloom and doom of 2016 and "burst forth in 2017" with "community, unity, and reassurance."

It is also the color of guacamole, so yes, very hopeful, indeed.
