What song do Sheff United fans sing before kick-off?
Sheffield United fans sing their club anthem ‘Greasy Chip Butty’ before kick-off.
The song has been a staple at Blades games since the 1980s after supporters adopted the tune of ‘Annie’s Song’ by John Denver.
Fan Gavin Hancock wrote his own version and lyrics to the song after hearing someone sing it in a local pub.

That version of Denver’s song quickly grew in popularity due to its humorous lyrics that related to working-class life in Sheffield.
It nods to the traditional working life in the Yorkshire city with references to Magnet which a local bitter, Woodbine cigarettes and of course, chip buttys which is simply a sandwich filled with chips!
The song has also been sung by Rotherham in the past and even made it over to rugby with some St Helens fans singing the anthem.
But it has stuck as Sheffield United's trademark and they continue to make themselves heard before every game.

‘Greasy Chip Butty’ Lyrics
You fill up my senses
Like a gallon of Magnet
Like a packet of Woodbines
Like a good pinch of snuff
Like a night out in Sheffield
Like a greasy chip butty
Like Sheffield United
Come fill me again
Na na na na na...Ooooohh!
