In an interview with Teen Vogue, Kavenagh talked about how The Rings of Power is different from her other work. She said, “It’s obviously fantasy, and I really felt that it was going to be something quite separate, or that I’d have to prepare in a different way than I had before.”

Markella Kavenagh told Variety that Nori Brandyfoot is “a very determined, very curious, inquisitive Harfoot who is just trying to balance a strong commitment to family with a real interest in adventure.”

Even though Nori is very outgoing, Kavenagh says, “She meets resistance a lot of the time, but she gets through it.”

He also says, “She leads with a lot of love, even though she can be very annoying at times—she has the best of intentions.”

But Kavenagh seemed positive about the new direction the showrunners were taking the LOTR franchise, even though he knew the original story well.
