As of this pub date (April 18 at 1:20 p.m. ET), Hudgens has neither responded to the news nor followed Zac Efron back. Her most recent Instagram activity is a post to Stories about the moon or something.
Could this be a last-ditch effort to win her back before she ties the knot, or does Zac just want to be pals with his ex? Whatever it is, Efron should know that the world is watching. As of 2023, following someone on Instagram (or not) is, like, the number one way celebrities show who they’re on the ins and outs with—just ask Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez.
For additional context, the Hairspray actor only follows 278 accounts, most of them celebrities, including Kanye West, Russell Crowe, Bombas socks, and the feature film Scoob! So Hudgens is in…a very particular kind of company. Truly, I’m not sure how to react to this potentially world-shattering development. But will we keep a close eye on the situation? Bet on it.
